The Gypsy's Lair Art Cafe'

I have long been wanting to visit this restaurant called The Gypsy's Lair. So, when my cousin asked me to bring her to this place, I immediately said yes and planned our Gypsy's Lair food trip adventure right away!

We chose to eat at the second floor of the restaurant because of its cozy ambiance.

We went there at around 9 o'clock in the evening. We were the only customer inside the Art Cafe' during that time, the other customers were seated outside at the open area of the Art Cafe'.

The restaurant is owned by he Freto's (the family which also owns the Kamarikutan Art Gallery/Cafe'), which explains why the restaurant has this artsy feel in it.

The Art Cafe' showcases a lot of paintings and other artworks by the talented local Palawenyo Artists.

I noticed that most of the paintings are done by Frances Mendoza, a local artist. The picture of a painting below is one of her works.

What we tried:

As for the food, we tried the following desserts (since we already had dinner).

I ordered Ice Biko, it is one of their best-selling desserts.

Ice Biko is a Pinoy take on Pie a la Mode Sticky Rice Cake topped with home-made Ice Cream.

The combination of the hot biko and the cold ice cream was epic! They go very well and they complimented each other. The home-made mango ice cream is so delicious. This sweet gypsy, as they call it, is a WINNER!

I just didn't like the garlic together with the peanuts on top. But overall, this dessert is a win-win and a must try!

This is the Gypsy's Lair's version of the classic Filipino dessert called Halo-Halo.
A Pinoy classic cooler and medley of fruit preserves framed in finely shaved ice topped with home-made ice cream and sweet custard.

Another classic dessert but within the Filipino concept, is the Gypsy's Lair's Banana Split. The ice creams are home-made too!

These are some of the other desserts at the Gypsy's Lair, the pastries and cakes are supplied by La Patisserie Palawan. They have a variety of cake flavors and they also have sylvannas and french macaroons.

The Gypsy's mini-cakes ad jumbo cupcakes selection is available from their dessert trolley, you can simply ask the servers to roll out the sweet delights for you.

Aside from desserts, the restaurant also offer a wide variety of food ranging from pastas, soups, salads, and even Mexican dishes like Quesadillas and Burritos.

There's free WIFI, you just have to ask the servers for the password for you to be able to access the internet

The servers are also very nice, courteous and very accommodating. The servers also provide this device (refer to the picture below) to the diners on the second floor for convenience purposes. So that whenever you need something from them you can just press the button and they will immediately attend to you.

The Art Cafe' is actually divided into two. This one (refer to the picture below) is an open area while the other one is an enclosed and air-conditioned area. Outdoor seating is also available.

They also have live music to entertain their guests. Live bands perform every night except during Sundays.
