The word "Hukad" is a Cebuano term for the Tagalog word, "Hain". Hukad sa Golden Cowrie is a Filipino restaurant. Originally from Cebu, this restaurant chain offers authentic Pinoy dishes.

This is their Palawan branch.

Take a look at this nice ceiling fan. Its propellers are designed like banana leaves. It's uniquely beautiful.

They put banana leaves on their plates, making the dining experience more authentically Filipino.

 FOOD. FOO. FOOD

 What we tried:

(Hukad Resto, Manalo Ext. PPC, Palawan)

Maja Blanca, P55. Maja Blanca, also known as coconut pudding, is a classic Filipino dessert made from coconut milk, cornstarch and sugar. This dessert usually has corn kernels in it, but Hukad's version doesn't have any corn kernels in it.

This may not be the best-tasting Maja Blanca that i've ever tasted, but i can say this Maja tastes good!

One of their best selling desserts is the budbud with tsokolate syrup. It's a sticky rice drizzled with a rich chocolatey syrup.

A modern way of presenting a traditional Filipino snack called Suman (sticky rice).

I don't know what's so special about this dessert that it has become one of their best-sellers. For me it's just a normal tasting suman drenched with chocolate syrup.

We also tried their crispy tuna fingers. One bowl has ten pieces of deep-fried tuna fingers which comes with a special tartar sauce and atsara (pickled papaya). The dish has legit tuna, i must say. It's just a bit expensive for its taste and quantity.

Me and my companions just tried some dishes, mainly composed of desserts cause we already had dinner. The next time we visit this place, we'll try some of their other Filipino dishes.

Outdoor sitting is available. There's also a service fee being charged in your total bill. Budget per person is around 200-400.
