If you've read my old posts, you'll know that this is our second time to visit La Tienda de Tuy. In the Adventures of JaNiFuJo part one, we promised that we will go back to this place to try their unique dishes, so here we are! We're back at La Tienda de Tuy.
(To know more about our adventure and how we discovered La Tienda de Tuy, you can read it
here:)
La Tienda de Tuy is a restaurant that offers a new experience in healthy eating. While checking out their menu, we discovered that they indeed have a variety of healthy dishes to choose from.
It is a unique place that has a very relaxing ambiance and it will surely spur your curiosity. With all the green plants and tall trees that surround the resto', you'll surely have a breath of fresh air that will welcome you as you enter the Hacienda Zabarte Farm. As you enter the restaurant, you will feel its homey atmosphere, it's like welcoming you into your home.

The interior of the structure is really nice. It has this very laid back atmosphere in it. It's very relaxing and cool in there. Its just like eating in your home, it's very homey and comfortable.Their decors are also nice and unique. It was valentine's season when we went there, that's why they have those cute decors hanging in there.

They gave us a free appetizer. It was a bowl of white bread slices with a balsamic vinegar dip. Yeah, I know, it's really a weird combination and it doesn't taste good at all. Though my friends find it okay, for me it's really a no no! Good thing it's just for free, i personally wouldn't pay even a single centavo for this. The bread itself is okay but if you dip it with the vinegar, no, really, it's not a good combination AT ALL. I just had a bite (just to try it) and i left the rest to my friends. Surprisingly, they finished it all.

GOURMET SANDWICHES
We tried their high in fiber and low in calories (according to them) freshly made gourmet sandwiches. We ordered Canadian Back Bacon and Balsamic Chicken Breast Fillet, both hot from the panini grill with cheese. The latter is the best sandwich i've tasted so far. It's really delicious and the ingredients go together very well. The Canadian Back Bacon on the other hand, tastes just like an ordinary ham and cheese sandwich, nothing extra ordinary or remarkable in its taste. I recommend that if you're going to eat here, make sure you try their BCBF Sandwich, its really really good! :)

FRESH, ORGANIC AND HEART HEALTHY VEGETABLE SALAD
We ordered a bowl of their grilled chicken salad. It was made with fresh organic lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and slices of chicken breast fillet drizzled with honey-mustard dressing.
|
(Grilled Chicken Salad-- P70) |
The dressings that they use in their salads are home made and very tasty. I find their garlic mayo very yummy! it's so good! I think, their salads would be more delicious if the garlic mayo is used instead of the honey-mustard dressing that they are currently using. I also love the fact that the ingredients that they used were organic. It sounds really healthy---it really is healthy! :)
For the pasta lovers out there who crave for a change, try La Tienda de Tuy's unique and delicious pasta dishes. They use fresh ingredients such as Okras, tomatoes, olives etc. They also use fresh tomatoes, onions, garlic, capcicum, and basil that go into their tomato sauces.
Me and my friends ordered three different pasta dishes. We had the following:
|
(Tuna Pasta w/ Okra---Pasta dish with tuna flakes saute'ed in garlic, onions and olive oil served with crunchy okras, P70) |
That was my first time to eat pasta with okras, and it's not that bad! :) The dish tasted okay, nothing extraordinary in it except the inclusion of okra in the dish.
Another pasta dish that we ordered was the Pasta Negra.
|
(Pasta Negra---A pasta dish which has mineral-rich calamari that's saute'ed in its own ink which coats the pasta black, P85) |
This is the real reason why we went back to La Tienda de Tuy! We really were intrigued by this black pasta the first time we saw it in the menu, that's why when we went back for the second time, it was the first thing that we ordered. We were not disappointed, as the pasta tasted sooo good! It really is a must try if you will eat here.
And lastly, we ordered their Puttanesca Classic.
|
(Puttanesca Classic---pasta in fresh pesto sauce with olives, cappers, fish flakes and olive oil, P70) |
What i like most with their pasta dishes is that the pasta itself is cooked pefectly and aside from that i love the fact that their ingredients are very fresh, as in freshly harvested from the farm which is located just at the back of the resto and in addition to that, they are ORGANIC!
(Note that the prices above are subject to changes.)
|
(My friends enjoying the dishes served.) |
Aside from the dishes that we tried, they also have rice meals and a variety of drinks---ranging from lemon grass tea to pineapple cucumber shake and many others, in their menu.
Their tagline goes: "A new experience in healthy eating"
Their dishes are really healthy and they're made with fresh and organic ingredients freshly harvested from the Zabarte Farm. Above all, their dishes are very very affordable. Our total bill when we billed out was just a total of 400+, and we are a group of four, so individually it costed us 100+ each. Very affordable, isn't it? :) FRESH, HEALTHY, AFFORDABLE! What more can you ask for? Go on and try it for yourself! If you wanna go there and try their unique dishes, their address and contact details are found in the bottom part of the article for your convenience.
Enjoy! And afterwards, make sure you tell me about your own experience with La Tienda de Tuy.

Since Nicky haven’t been with us in this place before, we decided to tour her around and so that we can also explore the place even more. So after eating, we roamed around Hacienda Zabarte and we noticed that there is a truck at the back part of the Hacienda and guess what, IT’S A SUGARCANE TRUCK! EPIC! I was sooo amazed to see one!

|
(So happy to see a truck like this! That was my first time to see a sugar cane truck! it's soooo huge!) |
|
(Striking a pose with the gigantic Sugar cane truck at Hacienda Zabarte as my background) |
I was really entertained to see this kind of truck, ‘cause you know, I only see this on TV and now here it is very much physically present! I love the colors of the truck it’s exactly how I imagined it to be.
Speaking of sugarcane trucks, sugarcane fields are abundant in the province of Batangas, making sugar as the major industry in the province. Nasugbu is home to one of the biggest cane and sugar refinery in the Philippines, the CADP or Central Azucarera Don Pedro. We passed by that azucarera on our way home from Hacienda Zabarte, and we saw a lot of sugar cane trucks in different colors and sizes in it! It was so entertaining to look at.
Going back to the story, while roaming around the Hacienda, we also noticed some of the improvements in the place that triggered our curiosity.
In the adventures of JaNiFuJo part one, I mentioned about the creepy mossy pool that we saw at the Zabarte Farm. Well, this is how it looks like now. All clean and moss free! We were so shocked to see the pool this clean, because the last time we saw it, we don’t even want to go near it! Because, really, it’s super scary. Before, it really looked like the one in the local horror movie "Villa Estrella". But hey, look at it now! It's so clean and inviting! We later on found out that the pool was restored/reconstructed because of the newly built Sugar Cane Spa, just a few meters away from the pool. The spa offers packages which includes, massage, food and a dip at their pool. So that's the reason why the pool was restored.
|
(The now super duper clean swimming pool.) |
Sorry i won't be able to show you guys the "before" picture of the pool 'cause i don't have one. And our only copy of the picture of the old pool was with joana and i think she doesn't have it anymore. I also didn't had the chance of getting a copy of it. Well, i guess you can just make your imaginations work. :)
|
(A nice bench near the pool, calls for a photo opp, so i grabbed it) |
So, after eating, strolling and taking lots of pictures, we already decided to leave.
|
(Yayy!! We really had a great time. Thank you La Tienda de Tuy!) |
What I like most about La Tienda de Tuy, is that it is very interesting and it always gives us new experiences. The owners of the Hacienda Zabarte has a blossoming new business venture, this is the Sugar Cane Spa. Recently opened on June 2011, the Sugar Cane Spa is a business which offers great relaxation packages and good food. They have a package for couples, groups, friends, etc. I love the fact that every time we visit this place, they always give us a reason to go back. The next time we visit La Tienda de Tuy, we’ll surely try their new spa. Sorry guys, i won't be able to provide you with their packages and rates 'cause when i asked for a flyer the guy there said that they already ran out of it. So i guess when we have the chance, we'll just go back in there and try their spa and i'll blog about it! :) Adios!

(Time to go now.. Bye Hacienda Zabarte! 'til we meet again :D) |
