FOODTRIP sa USTE! (The Adventures of JaNiFuJo Part 3)

It's almost a year after my graduation.
(University of Santo Tomas, Espanya Manila Philippines-- 2014)

The last time i was in UST was during the month of April year 2013.

(Quadri Centennial Park, UST Espanya Manila)

This year, i'm back. Not to pursue further studies, but to reminisce my college life with my long-time college bff's, the JaNiFuJo. It's just a bit sad that the Fu in JaNiFuJo wasn't able to join us in our USTe food tripping adventure. In spite of that, we happily continued our food adventure in Espanya.

Along with two of my friends, Joana and Nicole, we went back to our college lives by going back to our favorite food stalls in and outside the university.

(L-R Nicole and Joana, my co-foodtrippers for the day)

Our first stop, the D2B Multi-ventures at the ground floor of the UST Multi-deck car park.

Cantonese's fried sharksfin with rice is one of the best sellers and most patronized foods in the D2b multi-ventures' food stalls. It is one of my favorite foods back in college. I can eat this everyday! Di ako magsasawa hehe. I love the combination of its flavors and i eat this with lots of chili! Yum yum yum!

After getting our orders, me and my friends proceeded to our favorite spot at the lover's lane. We ate our food there while exchanging stories and catching up on each other's lives.

After finishing our food, we went on with our food trip! Our next stop, Dapitan street for dynamites!!

(King Dynamite--UST Dapitan  St.)

This is our barkada's favorite dynamite food stall.

For the benefit of those who doesn't know what a dynamite is, it is a green chili stuffed with pork/chicken and cheese which is wrapped in lumpia wrapper and dip fried in cooking oil. Dynamite is one of my favorite street foods in uste. I am a lover of anything chili and cheesy! So to the one who invented or came up with this thing, YOU ARE AWESOME! Haha.

(Pork/chicken with cheese dynamite, P10 each)

It also comes with a mayo and ketchup dressing.

After finishing our dynamites we went on with our food trip.

Let's proceed to our third stop.

Off we go to a street called P.Noval.

(Mang Toot's Food House, P.Noval St. Sampaloc Manila)

On the stretch of P.Noval lies a lot of food establishments, some are new while some are already decades old. But my friends and i are here not to try the oldest or the newest restaurants, we are here to eat some good old banana rhum-a from an eatery called mang toots.

(Mang Toot's Food House, P.Noval St. Sampaloc Manila)

Mang toots is very popular to the Thomasian community because of their good food! One of their best sellers is a dessert called banana rhum-a.

(Mang Toots' Banana Rhum-a)

With just 10 pesos on hand you can already enjoy three pieces of banana rhum-a's. I forgot to ask why it was called banana rhum-a, i am just guessing that they included rhum in the ingredients.

Anyways, banana rhum-a is a small toron (a Filipino dessert---fried banana wrapped in lumpia wrapper), which is sprinkled with sesame seeds and powdered mixture of sugar, milk and cinnamon.

Now let's go back inside the campus.

Let's go back to our first stop, the D2B Multi-Ventures, for some more dessert. This is our last stop by the way.

(Crepe Man-D2B Multi-Ventures UST Carpark)

We are heading back to our first stop for some delicious crepes.

Mango and Peach Crepe in the making:

There's still a lot more that we wanted to eat but our tummies are already super full. I would've wanted to eat more but there's no more space left in my tummy for the foods i have in mind. We missed carpark's shawarma rice, "The" mojos (sourcream with garlic mayo dip--i don't know if the mojos stall is still kickin' though. But this is one classic thomasian snack! Maybe it's still there. We weren't able to check it out eh sayang), calamansi basil and tapioca milk tea of golden chopsticks and tuna steak/sisig from ate eva's!

Okay, enough of that cravings. So after we finished our crepes, we decided to end our USTe food trip and went on our way to Antipolo to visit Fudgee. And once again we bid UST goodbye. :)

But wait, we realized that the foodtrip is not yet over.

Off we go to Antipolo to visit our friend Fudgee.

Before we headed to fudgee's crib, we decided to get some ingredients at a grocery near their house. Joana will cook our barkada's favorite viand for dinner! Spicy Chicken heart and liver adobo! :) fudgee's hubby also cooked pansit for us.

After all the cooking and chika chika here are the finished products:

(M's Pancit Bihon with tofu bits)

After dinner, we walked around the village and visited their mini food stall.

They have a lot of snacks available in there. Fudgee introduced us to one of their best sellers, the grilled kwek-kwek.

It was a unique way of preparing kwek-kwek and it's surprisingly good. Sarap!

We are super full! This is really the end of our food trip for the day. Promise haha.

We had so much fun and we of course enjoyed each other's company.
