SECRET LAGOON (El Nido, Palawan)

Kuya Bangkero (boatman): Actually, Ma'am/Sir, may secret po ang island na ito. (Actually, Ma'am/Sir, this island has a secret)
Me: Ano yun kuya? (What is it, kuya?)
KB (boatman): Edi hindi na po yun secret kapag sinabi ko. (If I tell you, it will not be a secret anymore.)

Me: WEH.. Eto naman si kuya eh, puma-punchline pa. Go na!
KB (boatman): Hehe. Eto po ang tinatawag naming Secret Lagoon.. (This is what we call, the Secret Lagoon)
Me: Asan? (where)
KB (boatman): Ayun po oh, yung butas. Dun tayo papasok mamaya. (There, that's the hole. That's where we'll enter in a while)

Kuya bangkero, the boatman, was referring to this small hole (look at the picture below).

(The hole of the Secret lagoon from afar)

Our fifth island destination, the Secret Lagoon! :)

This is what it looks like from afar. The hole is at the middle bottom part of this photo.

It's a secret lagoon because of the fact that you cannot immediately see that there is actually a lagoon inside that small hole.

It really is a secret lagoon, even us didn't noticed it at first. You will really need to go closer to it, to be able to see its opening.

(A little bit closer look)

Here's a closer view of the hole from afar.

(The close up view of the hole)

This is the close up view of the hole. You need to pass through it for you to be able to get inside the lagoon.

This is the size of the hole. Don't worry if you're big, cause you can really fit in here. I, myself, didn't have a hard time passing through it.

Once you're inside the lagoon, you will really be amazed of structure and on how this limestones are formed.
You will really get to appreciate the beauty of God's creations. :)

(Inside the Secret Lagoon)

Inside the secret lagoon is a pool which also has shallow and deep parts. The deep part of the pool is the green colored area while the shallow part is from the entrance to the border of the green and white colored area. The deep part of the pool is really deep, deep as in above 5 or 6 feet. So if you're not a good swimmer, don't go to that area (specially if you're not wearing your life vests) for your own safety.

The surrounding limestone cliffs are so tall. They will really make you look up into the sky.

Can you find the CROCODILE!??

image
(The crocodile rock formation)

There it is!! :)

image
(A closer view of the rock formation)

It's a crocodile shaped limestone formation. It does look like a crocodile, doesn't it? It looks like a  crocodile hanging upside down.

It really amazes me how these secret lagoons are discovered by the people. I wonder who, when and how this lagoon was discovered. It's really interesting that this stuff exists. :)

If you happen to get tired exploring the hidden lagoon ( and if you still have the leisure of time), you can enjoy swimming and bumming on a nearby white-sand beach.

It is so near,  that most of the tourists go here after enjoying the beauty of the secret lagoon. :)

Unveil the mystery of the Secret Lagoon yourself! Go to El Nido now, and book your island hopping trip to enjoy more of El Nido's awesome secrets! ;)

Adios!
