After the epic day of our PORT BARTON ADVENTURE DAY 1 and a  fun-filled activities during our PORT BARTON ADVENTURE DAY 2, we are getting so much excitement for what surprises  Port Barton has for us on our third and last day in this paradise.

I was awaken by the sound of the crashing waves. For me, it has always been the best alarm clock and sound to hear and to wake up to in the morning.

Me and my friend April had a good night sleep in this nice little cabin.

(The cabin)
This was the view which welcomed me the moment I opened up our door.

(Good Morning View!)

I could get used to waking up with the kind of view every single day. It's priceless! I sooo love the beaaaaachh!! It was a good morning indeed! I super love the place, the ambiance, the homey island-feel and all. This is truly a piece of paradise!

(Palawan Camping Beach, December 2014)

After doing our morning rituals, we proceeded to the dining area to have some breakfast.

This was our breakfast, it's composed of slices of banana, a cup of brewed coffee, scrambled eggs and toast with butter and orange jam. I liked the orange jam so much!

Breakfast!
After having breakfast, April and I lounged at the beach to read a book. There's a mini library inside their mini bar where you can borrow some books to read. I was so thrilled to see that they have a book written by my favorite author.

(Books + Beach =<3)

After a few minutes of reading, we realized that we only have a 3-4 hours left to enjoy the beach so we decided to stop reading and explore the island instead. We returned the books at the mini bar. After returning the books, we went back to our room to change clothes for swimming.

(Barton 2014)
When we were already in our swimming clothes, we decided to explore the beach first before going in to the water.

(Barton 2014)
We went from one end of the property to the other. But sadly we weren't able to visit the eastern most part of the beach.

(Barton 2014)
This is the western part of the camping beach. At the background you will get a glimpse of the neighboring island called "Tandan Island".

Here's a closer view of the island.

(Barton 2014)
Just like the first and second day of our stay in Port Barton, our third and last day was also entirely spent at the beach.

(Barton 2014)
After exploring the western beach we decided to visit the other end where the bamboo shower is located at.

(My friend April)

The beach has powdery white sand!

(Barton 2014)

What I loved most about this destination is that you can enjoy the beach for yourselves. April and I were the only guests who were enjoying the private beach during that time!

(Barton 2014)
I love the privacy and comfort that the camping beach offers.

(Barton 2014)

The place is so blessed with a gorgeous white sand beach and clear waters!  As you can see in the photo above, the beach is spotless!

(Barton 2014)

After all the walking and picture taking that we did, we finally decided to go swimming.

(Barton 2014)
The water is nice but the current is quite strong.

(Barton 2014)

After a few minutes of swimming, we just lied at the beach to soak up the sun.

(Barton 2014)

(Barton 2014)

(Soaking up the sun!)

Enjoying the sun with us is this cute little boy named Roomer. He's the son of one of our co-campers.

(Barton 2014)
He used a coconut shell as his pillow and his whole body was covered with sand. Isn't he adorable?

(Barton 2014)

That little girl in pink at the background is Roomer's sister. I forgot her name though.

(Me and Roomer)

After a short conversation with Roomer, April and I went to the bamboo shower to take pictures and to have a quick shower.

(The bamboo shower)

They have a unique bamboo shower located at the other end of the beach. From the campsite, you need to walk to the eastern part of the beach to get to the bamboo shower. Mrs. Clark's creativity produced this unique bamboo shower. A long piece of bamboo was placed in a water source coming from the mountain and it became a unique shower where the island's guests can take a quick shower after bathing in the sea.

(Barton 2014)

The eastern most part of the beach is said to be home to an amazingly huge stone that we weren't able to see. We didn't get the chance to see it because we have a limited time and we only got to go only up to the bamboo shower.

After exploring the different parts of the beach, we went back to the campsite to take a shower and change clothes. After that we packed up our stuff and got ready to go back to the mainland. Ms. Clark made us an early lunch so that we can catch our 2pm trip going back to Puerto. I think it's an hour of a boat ride from the island to the mainland. We were sad to leave the place because we'd love to stay for a couple more days but we just have to. No worries because there's still a next time.

Before we left the beach, we had an early lunch so that we can leave the beach at around 12nn.

I also had the chance to meet and talk to the island's owner, Mrs. Thelma Clark. She is a very nice and accommodating host who always makes sure that your stay in their island will be a memorable and an enjoyable one.

(The owner of Palawan Camping, Mrs. Thelma Clark)

April and I left the beach at around 12:15pm to make sure that we make it to the 2pm schedule of the Recaro van's last trip going to Puerto Princesa.

An overnight stay in this destination is really not enough for you to be able to explore all that the island and its people have to offer. I will surely come back to this piece of Paradise! This gorgeous island is my favorite spot in Port Barton!

(Barton 2014)
We arrived in town just in time for our 2pm trip going back to Puerto.

HOW TO GET THERE:

Read the end of this post to know how to get to Port Barton. And once you're already in Port Barton you can hire a boat which will bring you to Palawan Camping. But I think unlike us, you need to book in advance because Palawan Camping does not usually accept walk-in guests. :)

-The Palawenya Explorer ;)

Let the Palaweña Explorer take you on a virtual tour at the islands of El Nido----Island Hopping Package TOUR B! :)

Come on Vamonos, let's explore the islands of  El Nido under the Tour B group of islands.

The tour B group of islands in EL Nido, Palawan is composed of gorgeous beaches, a unique sand bar and natural caves.

Usually, the island tour package adventures start at 9 in the morning and end at 4 in the afternoon. But if you will be having a private island hopping tour, just like what we did, the time is yours to manage. The time you will spend on each of your destination is in your hands and you can go to anywhere you want (of course that depends on your agreement with your boat operator).

If you will join a package tour, the tour package for the tour B group of islands costs P1,300 per person and that will allow you to be able to visit 5 destinations. Lunch, mask and snorkel, life vests and assisting guides are all part of the tour package. You might also need to bring your own water and towel but it depends on your tour operator if that will be included in your package or not.

Here's a virtual tour of the destinations under the Tour B Group of Islands in EL NIDO, PALAWAN.

For more pictures and a more detailed article, just click on the names of the islands hyperlinked to its full article. :)

ENTALULA ISLAND

An exquisite private island which is a venue for a private lunch or dinner exclusive only for El Nido Resorts' residents. The people who cannot afford to stay at El Nido resorts need not worry because we still have a chance to enjoy a part of this gorgeous island.

This island is originally not a part of the tour B group of islands, it was just eventually added in the destinations under the said group.

(Entalula Island, May 2015)

Entrance fee: None

Things to do: Swim, Snorkel, Soak up the sun, Picnic Lunch

SNAKE ISLAND

What's the first thing that comes into your mind when you hear the word "snake"?

(Snake Island, May 2015)

That poisonous and scary crawling reptile might come first into your mind. But if you're in El Nido, the word snake will make you think of a nice island. Originally known as "Vigan Island", Snake Island is very popular for having a  long sand bar which connects the island to another. If you're thinking that the island is infested with snakes, it's not. That might not be a good island to go to if that's the case hehe.

Entrance fee: None

Things to do: Swim, Snorkel, Soak up the sun, Picnic Lunch, Trekking, Crossing one island to another via connecting sand bar

Pinagbuyatan Island, Cudugnon Cave and Cathedral Cave

are also part of the El Nido Islands TOUR B that I have yet to visit. I haven't been to the mentioned destinations yet but I'm planning to visit them in the near future. And until then will I be able to write about each of them. For now, I can just give you a little background of what I know about the above mentioned island destinations.

Pinagbuyatan Island

This destination is also known as Ellis Island. The island has soft and powdery white sand beach. High limestone mountains serve as the backdrop of the island's facade, the island is actually mostly composed of the towering limestone cliffs. There's pretty nothing much to see or do in this island aside from swimming and having a picnic lunch.

Entrance fee: None.

Cudugnon Cave

Cudugnon cave is an ancient cave which is also known as an anthropological site with important archeological value. Some jewelries and potteries dating back to the Sung dynasty was found in this cave. One of the exciting facts about this destination is that you will have to crawl at the small opening of the cave to be able to enter it. They say that places that are hard to go to are usually worth visiting. So I guess, this cave is really worth the visit.

Inside the cave you will see huge chambers with skylights. According to those who have already visited the place, this cave is definitely one of the destinations that one should not pass up when visiting El Nido. I will surely visit this on my next island hopping trip in El Nido.

Entrance fee: None.

Cathedral Cave

From what I've heard and read online, Cathedral cave is called as such because of it's high ceiling and big walls which resembles that of a cathedral. It's also a good spot for picture taking. They also say that there's a lot of jellyfish in this area.

Entrance fee: None

Things to do: Exploring the cave, picture taking and  swimming.

You might notice that not a single island in El Nido has an entrance fee. Only a 200 pesos ETDF (Eco-Tourism Development Fee) per person is being collected before the start of the island hopping tour. This fee is good for up to 10 days of your stay in El Nido. The accumulated fund is used by the government to maintain the islands and manage the tour operations in the municipality.

And that's all folks, that's the end of our virtual island hopping tour in the TOUR B Group of El Nido Islands. Come and experience the beauty of El Nido, the most beautiful island in the world!

-The Palaweña Explorer ;)

This beautiful resort has been our home for 3 nights and 4 days during our June 2015 Coron Adventure.

(The resort's facade)

We reached this destination after a 30-minute land travel from the Busuanga airport. From the airport, you can ride a chartered van which will bring you to your accommodation. Just tell the driver your intended destination and he'll bring you right at the doorstep of your hotel. Fare is 150 pesos per person.

Welcome drinks!

Upon our arrival at the resort, we were welcomed by their hospitable staff and manager with welcoming drinks. After checking in, we were led to our room which will be our home for the next 3 days.

(Welcoming view)

This was the view which welcomed us! The resort has a total of 3 huge cottages with a total of 18 rooms. At the middle of the three cottages is a swimming pool.

(Our pool side lounging area)

Each of the rooms are facing the pool and every room has a corresponding pool side lounging area where you can just chill and relax.

(Pool side chill spot)

Each room's pool side lounge has 2 beach chairs and a coffee table all under a big umbrella.

(Our room)
This is our room. It has two double beds, complete with a sofa set and a television, it's also fully air-conditioned. Each room also has a private bath with hot and cold shower. Their bathroom is clean and spacious, and the water supply is also good.

(Are you in Greece H?)

Here's a photo of my little cousin, Henrielle striking a pose at the window frame. I don't know why, but the window of our room reminds me of Greece.

(Pool side lounge)

Sunz en Coron Resort is just one of the many accommodations in Coron, Palawan. But unlike any other resorts and hotels, this one is the first ever Korean owned resort in the municipality of Coron.

(The resort's swimming pool.)
Other amenities and facilities which the resort has are the following:

(The resort's mini bar)

(Sunz en Coron's Mini bar)

(Chill out spots for guests)

(Cabanas at the garden area)

The resort also has a restaurant and a spa. They call their spa Spa Nortia. They offer whole body (Swedish & Shiatsu) massage and foot spa.

(The resort has a nice back drop of the Tapyas mountain)
Sunz en Coron is situated at the hillside of the most famous mountain in Coron, Mt. Tapyas. The resort is located at Baranggay Poblacion 6, Coron Palawan.

Guests also need not worry about the transportation system as the resort has an in house tricycle which serves as the guests service if they wanted to go somewhere in town.

Every single night during our stay, we enjoyed swimming in the pool. The pool changes its color every now and then and sometimes they also open the fountains around the pool which makes the swimming experience more fun, specially for kids.

(Swimming time)
This is how the resort looks like at nightfall. The cabanas, mini bar as well as the pool are all now lighted up.

(Sunz at Night)

(The mini bar at night)
The ambiance of the resort is very relaxing and peaceful. You will also be able to rest well and you will not worry about your security as the resort is guarded with a security personnel 24/7. The privacy and comfort which the resort provides is a big thumbs up!

(Cabanas and Mini Bar)

The resort's staff are also very polite and accommodating which is a huge plus to the resort's thumbs up factor.

Here's a short video clip of the resort:

If you're planning to visit Coron, you can consider staying at this beautiful resort. Make Sunz en Coron your peaceful abode in Coron Palawan which will surely make your stay in this paradise worthwhile.

-The Palaweña Explorer ;)
This is probably one of the most beautiful and peaceful places in the province of Palawan. This gem is hidden in a backpacker's haven popularly known as Port Barton.
(The view of the island from afar)

My year-end adventure for the year 2014 includes an overnight stay at Toby and Thelma's Island Camping Adventure!

(Tandan Island as viewed from Palawan Camping)

Together with my travel bud, Pixie, we explored the paradise of Port Barton and stayed in this unique beach.

(Palawan Camping Island)

No questions asked this place is really a piece of paradise!

(Palawan Camping, December 2014)
I was awestruck by the serenity and beauty of this gorgeous place. The "island" is actually still part of the mainland but it's only accessible by boat. The reason behind this is that the owners wanted to keep their paradise private.

The remoteness of the beach is an essential ingredient of its charm.

To know more about the story on how we got to this place you can read it here.

(Kayaks by the beach)
Palawan Camping is also said to be a place where one of the most beautiful views of the sunset in Port Barton can be seen.

(Palawan Camping Sunset)

And indeed, as you can see in the photos, the view of the setting sun from the island is truly spectacular. According to the people who have visited the place already, each day, you will be given a different view of the sunset.

(Sunset view)

After watching the breathtaking view of the setting sun, we went to our room to fix our stuff. After being able to settle and rest for a while, we decided to hang out at the balcony of the room where we're staying at.

(Amazing colors of the sky during sunset as view from Palawan Camping)

This is the view from the balcony.

(The view from the cottage's balcony)

The cute hangout nook at the cottage's balcony is paired with an awesome view of the beach.

(The balcony with a nice view)

When dinner was about to be served, one of their staff called us to go to the dining area to have dinner.

(Campfire dining feels)

So, we went down and proceeded to the dining area for dinner. After blessing the food we fell in line to get our dinner. After getting our food from the buffet table, we went to the stone tables by the beach. We chose to eat on the stone tables in front of the bonfire for a more island-feel dining experience.

(Palawan Camping Dinner by the beach)

I enjoyed the dinner so much, the food was super good and it's like your typical home made Filipino meal. The dinner is composed of white rice, grilled tuna, fried vegetable lumpia, caldereta and boiled squash.

(My Dinner Plate)

It was a buffet dinner and you can eat as much as you want. Mrs. Clark also gave us some stir-fried shrimps with veggies, it was delicious. I heard that Mrs. Clark studied a culinary course to give her guests good and delicious meals. She's a jack of all trades, a good cook and a talented and creative artist as well. She designed her bungalow house and the mini bar as well as the bamboo shower and these beach tables too.

The aftermath. The food was so delicious that I finished up everything that's on my plate. Look at my now wiped out plate. Haha.

(The aftermath)
After finishing our scrumptious meal, April and I stayed for quite a bit at our dinner table by the beach to exchange stories and to get to know some of our co-campers.  We had a really nice couple of hours chatting with them. When  we we're quite sleepy already we said our good nights with the rest of the group who was still there and went back to our room for the night.

(Our accommodation for the night)

After taking a quick shower and fixing up some of our stuff, we decided to call it a night. We were lulled to sleep by the gentle sound of the waves and the soft breeze wafting through the small openings of the cottage.

Though they have a generator set, electricity is not available 24/7. Having no electricity in the island is actually not a problem because for me that's part of the camping experience, isn't it? At night, it's also not a problem having no electricity on because you're provided with a small rechargeable lamp which you could use when it's already lights off. We really didn't get the absolute camping experience because they're already fully booked and we're accommodated at their son's room but that's completely okay. It's timely that the owner's son was not in the island during that time that's why we're still accommodated. They made us stay in his room.

(The room)

This is the room of the owner's son where we slept in that night. I had a really good night rest, thanks to my favorite sound of nature which lulled me to sleep.

The next day, this is the view which welcomed me the moment I opened up our door.

(Good Morning view)

I could get used to waking up with the kind of view. It's priceless! I sooo love the beaaaaachh!! It was a good morning indeed! I super love the place, the ambiance, the homey island-feel and all. This is truly a piece of paradise!

This was our breakfast, it's composed of slices of banana, a cup of brewed coffee, scrambled eggs and toast with butter and orange jam. I liked the orange jam so much!

(Palawan Camping brekky)

After having breakfast, April and I lounged at the beach to read a book.

(My travel bud Pixie is also a bookworm)

After a few minutes of reading, we realized that we only have a 3-4 hours left to enjoy the beach so we decided to stop reading and explore the island instead. We returned the books at the mini bar where there's a mini library where you can borrow some books to read. And after which we went back to our room to change clothes for swimming.

Let me give you a mini tour of the beach. Join me as we explore the camping island of Mr. and Mrs. Clark.

This is the stone tables by the beach and at the background is their mini bar.

(Palawan Camping Stone tables and beach chairs)

Going to the western part of the island, you will see the small huts and tents which serve as the island's accommodation. There are a total of six (6) small huts in the island.

(Palawan Camping Accommodation)

If you are a non-luxury seeking sort of traveler, you are very likely to appreciate and enjoy the remote, relaxed and friendly vibe and natural beauty of this location.

(Tents under the huts)

The accommodation in Palawan Camping are tents with a double bed inside it. The tent is covered by a small nipa hut and each hut has a set of table and chairs, and a hammock on the side facing the beach.

(Tent number one at the farthest end)

There's also a beach volleyball court where sporty guests can enjoy playing volleyball.

(Beach volleyball court)

The western most part of the beach is full of rock formations and there are some small caves in there too.

(The view of the beach from the westernmost part)

There are a lot of nice views in the different parts of the property.

(Rock formations at the western part of the beach)

(The splashing waves against the rock formations)

From the western most part of the beach, you can get a better view of its neighboring island. This is the island in front of Toby and Thelma's, it's popularly known as Tandan Island.

(The neighboring island, Tandan Island)

After exploring the western part of the beach we went back to get to the other end of the beach. Now off to the east!

(Powdery white sand)

The eastern most part of the beach is said to be home to an amazingly huge stone that we weren't able to see. We didn't get the chance to see it because we have a limited time and we only got to go only up to the bamboo shower.

(Going to the bamboo shower)

The place is so blessed with a gorgeous white sand beach and clear waters!

(A private sanctuary blessed with a gorgeous white sand beach)

As you can see in the photo above, the beach is spotless!

(Enjoying the super private beach!)

(The view while sun bathing)

(Soaking up the sun)

The simplicity of the place allow families to bond and be a family, maybe that's the reason why one of our co-guests always make it to a point that he and his family spend at least a week every year here in this campsite.

This little guy beside me is one of the children of our co-guest that I'm talking about. This is Roomer and the little girl in pink at the background is his sister (I forgot her name).

(Me with Roomer)

(Bamboo shower)
They have a unique bamboo shower located at the other end of the beach. From the campsite, you need to walk to the eastern part of the beach to get to the bamboo shower. Mrs. Clark's creativity produced this unique bamboo shower. A long piece of bamboo was placed in a water source coming from the mountain and it became a unique shower where the island's guests can take a quick shower after bathing in the sea.

(Cold shower!)

(Enjoying the bamboo shower)
There can't be many places in the world like Palawan Camping, but I'm glad April introduced me to this one.

(Two thumbs up for Palawan Camping)

After exploring the different parts of the beach, we went back to the campsite to take a shower and change clothes. After that we packed up our stuff and got ready to go back to the mainland. Ms. Clark made us an early lunch so that we can catch our 2pm trip going back to Puerto. I think it's an hour of a boat ride from the island to the mainland. We were sad to leave the place because we'd love to stay for a couple more days but we just have to. No worries because there's still a next time.

(Mini Bar)

Unlike before, Palawan camping now has a mini bar where you can have some delicious cocktails and other drinks. Mrs. Clark made us try their unique mix the other night. The drink is called Esther, it's a cocktail mix named after one of their former guest who according to the owner, looks so much alike her eldest daughter, Rica.

. I am so happy to meet the owners of this wonderful campsite. This is Mrs. Thelma Clark, the very kind and accommodating owner of Palawan Camping

(Me with Mrs. Thelma Clark)

An overnight stay in this island is really not enough for you to be able to explore all that the island and its people have to offer. I will surely come back to this piece of Paradise!

(Bidding goodbye to this peaceful island. Until next time!)
